QHR’s EMR DIVISION DRIVING CANADIAN EMR ADOPTION

QHR’s EMR DIVISON DRIVING CANADIAN EMR ADOPTION
For Immediate Release

KELOWNA, BC, November 1, 2010 – QHR Technologies Inc. (TSX-V:QHR) (“QHR” or the “Company”), a leading Canadian Healthcare technology provider announces that its EMR division, Optimed Software in the first ten months of 2010 has already completed a record number of Electronic Medical Record (“EMR”) software installations for 500 physicians, adding to our year over year increase in recurring revenues, and supporting important federal and provincial objectives for EMR adoption across Canada.
In the race to move Canadian physicians from paper based patient charts to electronic medical records, Optimed Software has positioned itself as a market leader implementing their flagship software, Accuro® EMR into an additional 500 physicians’ daily work flow so far in 2010. Optimed now supports more than 3,500 physicians.

The federally mandated Canada Health Infoway has earmarked $350 million to increase EMR adoption from 35% to 50% of physicians from paper to EMR by March 31, 2012. In order to achieve this goal, Canada Health Infoway needs high velocity implementations of EMR by vendors who can scale to the market opportunity in each province and new physician EMR adoption is key.

“When we look at our 500 new Canadian physicians on Accuro® EMR this year, we have won on many levels in 5 different provinces,” said Al Hildebrandt, CEO of QHR and President of Optimed Software. “There are three key areas where we have succeeded; firstly, by increasing EMR adoption by new physicians moving from paper based systems; secondly, by creating market consolidation by moving physicians previously using other vendors’ EMRs; and finally by transferring patient data from their previous EMR to Accuro® EMR” said Hildebrandt.

All of this is based on a positive reference across our base of clients. Whether the transfer is from paper to Accuro® or from another EMR to Accuro®, physicians need patient data migrated and practice workflows enhanced.

Optimed Software implemented Accuro® EMR nationally to 500 physicians over the first ten months of 2010, 300 physicians from paper to EMR, and 200 physicians from other vendors’ EMRs. In comparison, POSP presented at the Alberta Association of Clinic Managers annual conference in September that Alberta’s three current qualified service providers (QSPs) had moved 37 physicians from paper to EMR and 91 physicians from other vendors’ EMRs to QSP vendors’ EMRs since February 2010.

“We are proud to support the various provincial health initiatives to achieve the objectives set out. What we are doing as a company seems to be working for these objectives, as we build our overall business,” said Hildebrandt.

“As we grow our client base Optimed’s mission remains our priority; to provide service and product excellence to clinics, facilitating efficient clinical and administrative practice using Accuro® EMR,” said Mike Checkley, Operations Manager.

Optimed Software Corporation was the first approved vendor in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and is also established in BC, Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and the Yukon.
